Are you looking for an easy Halloween treat to make with your kids? Look no further! The recipe for these Halloween Rice Krispie Pumpkin Treats is the one for you. They’re super simple, quick, and delicious; and best of all, your kids will love making them with you.

The Perfect Halloween Treat!
In all honesty, Halloween is my least favourite baking holiday. My most favourite is spring into summer baking; the season with all the pretty flowers (edible or real!), fresh berries, and light pastel colour palates.
As you can probably tell from my baking and food photography, decorating cakes with spiders crawling all over them or ghost or zombies isn’t really my thing. But pumpkins, yes pumpkins I can do!! This time of year, pumpkins are everywhere you look, in our drinks, on our porches, and especially in our Thanksgiving pies! So I thought it’d be the perfect time to make a pumpkin-shaped baked good. If you can’t beat ’em, sweetums, join ’em. (Parks & Rec anybody?!)

These pumpkins are so easy and delicious! And are rice krispie treats not the tastiest thing ever?! I remember eating them alot as a kid, but as an adult they’re rare to come by. But when I do eat them, I fall in love all over again. In my opinion they’re just as good now as they were when I was a kid. Trust me, I ate like 3/4s of these rice krispie pumpkin treats.

Make These With Kids!
This is the perfect recipe to make with your kids! They’ll love stirring the mixture in the pot, and adding cup after cup of rice krispies! They can absolutely help with shaping them into pumpkins, and sprinkling on the delicious chocolate toppings.
Another great recipe to make with your kids would be my Hello Dolly Bars. Layer after layer of buttery graham crust, chocolate, coconut, nuts, and sweetened condensed milk. SO good.
Don’t Miss This Crucial Step:
If you’ve ever made Rice Krispie Treats before, you know that they are super sticky. So I’m sure you’re wondering how on earth can you possibly shape them without wanting to rip your hair out? The key is water!
After you’ve made the mixture on the stove, fill a bowl of lukewarm water. Wet your hands before digging into the mixture and then shape it into a ball/pumpkin. Just make sure you wet your hands before shaping each pumpkin! Trust me, it works like MAGIC!
Toppings
Using chopped up Reese’s Pieces is an excellent choice for these rice krispie treats because not only are they Halloween coloured, but they taste amazing too! They add a whole ‘nother level of flavour to these treats–I love it!
The options are really endless. You could do mini chocolate chips, chopped up chocolate, white chocolate, nuts, Halloween-coloured sprinkles, and so much more!
And I love how easy it is to do the twirly pumpkin vines! Just put some chocolate in a microwave safe dish, melt it, pour into piping bag, and pipe it on the pumpkins! So cute.
If you wanted to do green vines, you could melt white chocolate and color it with green food colouring. OR use Wilton Cakes green candy melts.
